It seems the Cobia have slowed a little, but plenty of them still out
there. Be patient and have a live eel, orange/pink bucktail jig or red and white
bucktail jig ready for them. Cast in front and to the side of them and let it
fall when they see it. King Mackerel came in for a while, but the water
temperature cooled a bit and they got slower to the bite. When it gets back up
to around 80 degrees, pull the dusters with live or dead bait and hold on!.
Still a few Spanish Mackerel around in the front of the incoming tide and around
the bait balls. Bottom is still strong and the Red Snapper season opens in June,
until July 18th. Try a slip lead similar to a Carolina Rig on steroids, with a 3
to 4 ft leader. Chumming them works and light tackle is a blast.
Captain Craig Mann here wishing everyone tight lines and stay tuned!
