Fishing Reports: Port St. Joe

May 31st, 2011

The trout bite is great in St Joe bay with large trout being taken on topwater in the early morning. As the sun get up in the morning switch to a suspending bait or a soft plastic jerk bait.
The oyster bar along the Indian lagoon are holding some nice redfish on the change of tide. When fishing over there the water needs to be moving in one direction or the other. Surface baits such as Rapala Skitter Walk are working great. Expect of large Trout (over 24 inches) to be around these same bars.

Some tarpon have shown themselves in St Joe bay near the drop offs around Blacks Island.
